Maureen Gonzales

Maureen Gonzales

Maureen Gonzales is a Los Angeles based dancer, choreographer, and educator. She trained pre-professionally throughout her youth before attending Columbia College Chicago where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance Composition and Performance. She is currently on faculty at Loyola Marymount University teaching hip hop technique and setting work for the dance program. Her classes include contemporary, hip hop, ballet, jazz, musical theater, improvisation and partnering as well as children’s yoga. As an educator, Maureen focuses each class on the students and the present moment, keeping the space alive, curious and open. Maureen’s choreography investigates the way inter- and intrapersonal relationships affect movement. She has danced professionally with Boom Crack! Dance Company and DiPr. Her work has been shown in a variety of settings from stage to screen in Southern California, New York and Chicago.

Meet our Liberate Artists Dance Captains (LADCs) coming to your studio. These are our group of hand selected dancers, from all around the world, who assistant and demonstrate with our esteemed Liberate Artists faculty for an entire season on the road. During the season, LADC’s get an inside look at the professional dance world, while working with industry professionals in an individualized manner.
