Focus is Liberate Artists’ Commercial Dance Intensive held in North Hollywood, California. It’s the top crew of commercial dancers we’ve met from around the country. At Focus, dancers are immersed into the world of commercial dance and shoot a real music video with a recording artist – giving many dancers their first professional credit.

Lauren Froderman

So You Think You Can Dance Winner / Music Video Director + Choreographer

Lauren Froderman

Lauren Froderman has been dancing since the age of 3 and since then has trained in jazz, lyrical, contemporary, ballet, tap, and hip hop. She has always been a well-rounded dancer and because of this went on to win the seventh season of the Fox television show, So You Think You Can Dance. She has also danced for people such as the Radio City Rockette’s, Big Time Rush, Blake McGrath, and others. Appearing in television performances, music videos, and live shows, she continues to reach for the stars and learn and do as much as possible. Probably her greatest accomplishment since the end of the So You Think You Can Dance show and tour has been becoming the first dance athlete for Gatorade and being the female dance athlete for the G Series Fit line. As a director/choreographer Lauren teaches around the US with Excel in Motion Dance Convention and with Liberate Artists INC. She has directed/choreographed several videos including her own interpretations of the songs"Soap" by Melanie Martinez, "Samson" by Regina Spektor, and "Bad Liar" by Selena Gomez.

Ysabelle Capitulé

Ysabelle is a young professional dancer/choreographer who emanates hard work and passion with an edge. Her account is filled with captivating dance routines, fashion, and friends. Her fans are drawn to her whimsical and carefree personality as well as her ability to come off as a relatable young adult trying to live her life to the fullest.

Professionally, Ysabelle has worked with the likes of Kevin Hart, Bruno Mars, and J. Lo. She can be seen in True Religion and FENTY campaigns, but spends much of her time teaching at some of the most popular hip-hop studios and events globally, where she is able to extend her influence and inspire others.

Kai Lin

Kai Lin

Born and raised in New York City, Kai is a dancer/choreographer of many different dance genres and currently resides in Los Angeles. He started his training at MOBA dance academy and also joined his community as a street dancer/performer. He continued to study Ballet, Modern and Choreography at the prestigious Laguardia High School in NYC as a dancer major, also known as the F.A.M.E school as well as competing in street dance competitions. After graduating, he started his career while continuing to train at Peridance, Broadway Dance Center, EXPG, and many different street dance competitions and jams. This allowed him to be more proficient in Contemporary, Hip-Hop, House, Waacking, Improvisation and Choreography. After touring with Odyssey Dance Theatre, dancing for Prince Royce and Daddy Yankee, Kai signed with Clear Talent Group and moved to Los Angeles to continue his career. Since relocating some of his credits include becoming a finalist in the top 6 on SYTYCD Ukraine, Americas Got Talent, Nicki Minaj, Pharrell Williams/ N.E.R.D, Prince Royce, Wisin, TOKYOtheCompany, among others. He teaches Contemporary, Hip hop and Improvisation at Millennium Dance Complex and Movement Lifestyle as well as teaching/mentoring students around the country for companies like Broadway Dance Center, Peridance Capezio Center, TOKYOtheAcademy, the Tallahasee Ballet, BrickHouse NYC, and Project D Dance Company. While continuing his career, Kai plans to use all of his opportunities to create many new works, train and educate the next generation of dancers for years to come and sharing dance with the world! Kai recently danced with Janet Jackson at the Billboard Awards.

Auti Kamal

Millennium Dance Complex OC, Body Speaks, YouTube Creator With 28,000+ Subscribers

Auti Kamal

Auti Kamal, based in Orange County, CA is an award-winning choreographer and YouTuber, with a feature in Dance Magazine for her media work, “Million Reasons”. She is currently on faculty at Millennium Dance Complex Orange County, teaching lyrical and jazz. Auti is the Artistic Director for her up and coming contemporary dance company, Bodyspeaks. The company was invited to showcase work at World of Dance LIVE this past winter and will be featured at Club Jeté in April of this year. Auti received her Bachelor of Art in Dance from California State University, Long Beach where she was chosen by prestigious faculty to premier two works in department concerts. Auti is also a lifestyle and fitness model, pairing with companies such as Mantra Band, Aim’N Sportswear, and Soffe Active. Auti has had the opportunity to travel and teach as a master teacher, sought after for her expressive artistry and attention to mind-body connection.

Comfort Fedoke

So You Think You Can Dance All Star, Missy Elliot

Comfort Fedoke

Since the show So You Think You Can Dance, Comfort has been active in both the street world and the industry, doing a plethora of things. Her work is not only diverse but has boundaries around the world, she is going state-to-state across the US, all the while traveling overseas. Comfort has participated and won battles, like Juste Deboute in France and KOD in China. She has appeared in music videos for artists such as Jason Derulo and Florence and the Machine. She has danced alongside the top artists at some of their most viewed events, such as Rihanna at iHeart Radio, LL Cool J at the Guys choice awards, and female Hip Hop legend Missy Elliott at the Super Bowl 49 Half Time Show in Phoenix, as well as choreographing for Indie artist, Karmin. Comfort’s work doesn’t end on the dance floor. She has acted in a number of films over the past five years. She was in Step Up 5 All In, which is now on DVD. She was also in the film, High Strung, which was directed by Michael Damien, where Comfort played the supporting lead female character, “Poptart.” In the midst of her dance career, her new role as a choreographer and her acting Comfort has found the time to reconnect with her familial roots in Nigeria. She is now a judge on a famous family show in Lagos, Nigeria named Maltina Dance All. And last, but certainly not least, Comfort has been actively pursuing her music career and has her song “Lose Your Mind” out on iTunes now. She is in the process of working on her EP just dropping a new single called “Takin over” now on her Soundcloud.

Samo Soto

Samo Soto

New York City native, Samo Soto, started his dance career through humble beginnings, going to school dances and house parties, he just felt a natural talent for the arts. At the age of 16 he started break dancing and after years of dedication to the dance style, Samo has diversified his skill set and is proficient in House dance, Hip-Hop, and is renown for his freestyle in each of these genres. With his raw presence and sharp movement, his bold dance style always leaves a refreshing statement. With experience in working on major motion films, awards shows, commercials, and live performances; Some of Samo’s notable credits include working with Chris Brown, Mariah Carey, Daddy Yankee, had a feature role in “Battle Of The Year 3D”, was a dance consultant on “The Get Down” original Netflix series, as well as being featured as talent throughout the series. Aside from his accomplishments in the commercial industry, he holds numerous titles in the international competition circuit in various countries, being known as one of the best top rock champions of his time, winning Juste Debout 2012 in Paris, France. Today, Samo travels the world performing, judging, and teaching the dance styles he has spent numerous years perfecting. He is also now pursuing his lifelong dream of becoming an elite choreographer and creative director and has steady training working alongside Rich & Tone for the past couple of years. His ambition to leave a lasting imprint on the world and inspire generations to come is what continues to drive Samo to greatness.

Fresh Redding started dancing at the age of two and hasn't stopped! His resume is filled with illustrious credits such as: America’s Best Dance Crew (Season 6-Eclectic Gentlemen), League of Extraordinary Dancers(LXD), and Disney’s Shake it Up. He has worked with artist such as, Justin Bieber, Pharell, and Kendrick Lamar. Fresh has also made numerous appearances in commercials, for companies, such as: Kia, Nike, Allstate, Fed-Ex, Billboard Awards, The Ellen SHow, Dancing With The Stars and many others. Fresh hails from Hartford, CT and has been in LA for Six years and has taught at studios and workshops around the globe. He currently holds down a faculty position at Debbie Reynolds, in Los Angeles. His Clean and intricate style includes: Lyrical Hip-Hop, Hip-Hop, Poppin’, Tutting, Waving, Isolations and Robotics. Audry Ginsburg

Audry Ginsburg

Audry grew up in a small town in Southern Illinois where her love of performing and creating began. After solidifying her skill set in college at Murray State University she started performing professionally. Working as a freelance dancer/choreographer, her jobs have taken her to places she never imagined. From riding a horse in Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede to 'running away' with the circus to New York City public schools! Her performance and teaching opportunities have given her a love of travel as she has toured the country by bus and internationally by ship. Credits Include: Sesame St. Live Nat’l Tour, Norwegian GEM, Damn Yankees, and Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede. In recent years she has focused her energies on choreographing and teaching dance. Audry has taught for the prestigious Stagedoor Manor, Concordia Conservatory, and serves as lead experience manager and teaching artist for Liberate Artists Inc. As a member of Liberate Artists Inc. Audry has had the privilege of working and teaching with dance artists including: Comfort Fedoke (So You Think You Can Dance All Star), Lauren Froderman (So You Think You Can Dance Winner), Ivan Koumaev (Justin Timberlake), Randi and Hefa (Beyonce), Kyle Van Newkirk (World of Dance), and this summer Emmy Award Winning Choreographer, Mia Michaels. She aims to constantly expand her knowledge of dance and to continue to share her passion of performing and teaching the youth of America and the world! When not traveling for work she resides in New York City.

What are the age groups?

There are no age groups at Focus. Dancers will be split into two groups based on the music video.

Are there observation passes available?

Due to the nature of shooting a video, we do not allow any observers during Focus.

Are there payment plans available?

Yes, we provide monthly payment plans.

What is the refund policy?

There is a no refund policy.

When will faculty be announced for Focus 2018?

Faculty will be announced during the Spring of 2018. Since all of our teachers are working Los Angeles and New York professionals, schedules are subject to change. We try to avoid announcing artists before all professional commitments are booked and confirmed.

How does my dancer get a golden ticket to attend Focus 2018?
