What is Liberate L!VE?

Liberate L!VE is our L!VE Dance Experience – a magical experience featuring a recording artist and 3 Liberate Faculty Members. Dancers will participate in five classes daily, rehearsal in the afternoon, and at the conclusion will perform in a live concert dancing original choreography created by Liberate Faculty.

Julian DeGuzman

Julian DeGuzman started training and dancing at the age of 7. He has since appeared in numerous television shows including, Jennifer Lopez’s “World Of Dance”, “Saturday Night Live alongside Pharrell, the “Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon &, “America’s Best Dance Crew-Season 7, Paula Abdul's"Live to Dance" , the Rockefeller Xmas tree lighting with Mariah Carey, and most recently with Zedd, Maren Morris and Grey. He's also appeared on commercials for Macy’s, TARGET, the Gap and Chuck E Cheese just to name a few.

Travis Cooper

Travis Cooper started his dance training as a junior in high school at Nashville School of the Arts under teacher/mentor Stacie Flood-Popp. After graduating, he immediately relocated to Los Angeles, to further his training with a yearlong scholarship at the top professional studio, The EDGE Performing Arts Center in Hollywood. While studying at The EDGE, Cooper worked with a faculty full of the most sought out teachers and choreographers in the industry including Mandy Moore, Tessandra Chavez, Tabitha and Napoleon, and Sonya Tayeh of So You Think You Can Dance. His career began to blossom after the scholarship program provided him with opportunities to dance for Matt Cady, Unity Dance Ensemble under the direction of Tessandra Chavez, and collidEdance lead by Erica Sobol. He has also been an assistant to well known choreographers Erica Sobol and Andre Fuentes. Cooper toured internationally for two years with the queen of disco, Donna Summers on her Crayons Tour. He has appeared in a Hilton commercial as well as many music videos such as “F*** You” for Cee-lo Green (dancer), “1994” for Jason Aldean (choreographer and dancer), and “Doesn’t Get Better” for Alex Aiono (dancer). Cooper can also be seen in three episodes of the hit ABC television show Nashville. His choreography credits include two full live concerts for pop artist Helene Michele, a thirty minute concert piece entitled Reclusion for Found Movement Group, and many award-winning pieces for the middle Tennessee area dance studios. Cooper currently resides in Nashville, TN, where he performs as a principle dancer for Found Movement Group, and has developed into a sought out teacher and choreographer.

Amelia Burkhardt

Amelia Burkhardt

Amelia was born and raised in Thousand Oaks, CA. Throughout her training, she was on competition teams, winning many first place and overall soloist awards. Amelia was selected for numerous scholarships from competitions and conventions all over California, including a one year scholarship to Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles. Some of Amelia's credits include being a featured female dancer on The Hello Kitty Friendship Festival National Tour, Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush, Promo for Disney's 'Camp Rock 2', FOX 'Mobbed', Good Day L.A., and the Los Angeles Clippers. Her regional theatre credits include: Beauty and The Beast and Peter Pan. She has also worked alongside of celebrities Selena Gomez, Rosario Dawson, Jane Fonda, Wilmer Valderrama, Perez Hilton, Howie Mendel. She has danced for famous LA choreographers, Tabitha and Napoleon Dumo, Mandy Moore, Matt Cady, and Beau Fournier . She was a featured dancer and one of the assistant production coordinators for the world famous dance show, Choreographers' Carnival . She was a company member and assistant for the popular LA based company, Mischief Makers. They are invited to perform all over the country, including Hawaii, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Etc. Amelia also travels the United States judging studio dance competitions for Starpower, Imagine, and Revolution Talent Competitions. Over her professional career, Amelia has been teaching at several dance studios, high schools, and universities on the East and West Coast, including UCLA, Cal State Northridge, Cal State Channel Islands, and University of Delaware. She currently is a traveling faculty member for Liberate Artists, teaching and choreographing alongside Comfort Fedoke, Misha Gabriel, Lauren Froderman, Mollee Gray, Etc. Amelia resides in New York City to continue to pursue her dance and teaching career.

Will scholarships and invitations be awarded to Phoenix Fire, Phoenix Fire Elites, & Focus?

Yes! We will be awarding scholarships and invitations to Phoenix Fire, Phoenix Fire Elites, and Focus 2019! And for the first time ever, dancers will have the opportunity to be awarded scholarships to Phoenix Fire Elites and Focus!

Are parents allowed to observe during Liberate L!VE?

L!VE classes and rehearsals are closed to participants only, however parents will be invited to attend the L!VE concert and award ceremony.

What is Phoenix Fire, Phoenix Fire Elites, and Focus?

These are our Liberation Nation Productions, the Liberate Artists end of year experiences with dancers from all around the world. Phoenix Fire is our version of nationals held in New York City. Phoenix Fire Elites, is the invite-only version of Phoenix Fire and Focus is our Los Angeles invite-only commercial dance intensive (both experiences allow for only 50 dancers from around the world). Past faculty for these experiences include: Mia Michaels, Lauren Froderman, Comfort Fedoke, Randi and Hefa, Ysabelle Capitule, Nico Greetham, Fresh Redding, Kent Boyd...and many more.
