Kayla Igo

Kayla Igo

Kayla began dancing at the age of 3 at Larkin Dance Studio in Maplewood, MN. She trained recreationally for 8 years before deciding to make a full time commitment to dance by joining their competitive team. She also joined the fall dance team at Cretin-Derham Hall High School for 4 years. While Kayla was in high school, she was also assisting classes and teaching private lessons to some of the younger students at Larkin. When her younger sister Eva began dancing at the age of 3; Kayla immediately fell in love with helping her become the best dancer she could be. To this day, one of Kayla’s greatest joys is being involved in the training and improvement of her sister. After graduating high school, Kayla made the decision to attend Oklahoma City University to pursue her love for dance. She has spent 4 years studying and training at the Ann Lacy School of Dance and Entertainment. During her senior year of college, Kayla has began working at Epic Dance Studio; where she teaches jazz, contemporary, lyrical, musical theatre, ballet, tap, and technique to dancers between the ages of 10-18. She also choreographed numerous competitive solos, duos, and group dances for Epic. Kayla has also spent her senior year teaching students between the ages of 3-adult in the Community Dance Center at Oklahoma City University. In May of 2018, Kayla graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dance Pedagogy. Kayla has taught master classes and choreographed competitive pieces in Minnesota, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Tennessee. She will also be teaching alongside her sister Eva at World of Dance DX in Los Angeles in the summer of 2018 as well as judging the World Of Dance World Championships. Kayla is excited to embark on what she knows will be a fulfilling and rewarding career in dance as a performer, teacher, and choreographer.
